Diamonds

Lab-Grown or Natural: Choosing for Yourself

Both are real diamonds. The choice comes down to one question: what do you want your money to do? Size and sparkle, or origin and rarity.

Lab-Grown or Natural: Choosing for Yourself

Both are diamonds. Same carbon, same crystal, same hardness, same fire. A jeweler can only tell them apart with lab equipment. So the choice comes down to one question: what do you want your money to do?

If you want more diamond

Lab-grown gives you a larger, cleaner stone for the same budget. That is why most of our pieces are set with lab-grown diamonds: a tennis necklace with a full line of VS–VVS stones, a solitaire big enough to be the first thing you notice, in solid 14k gold, at a price you can choose without waiting for an occasion.

If you picture the piece and the first thing you see is its size and its sparkle, lab-grown is probably your answer.

If you want the origin

A natural diamond formed over a very long time, deep underground, and was found rather than made. Part of what you pay for is that history and that rarity. For some women the meaning of the piece is in exactly that.

If the first thing you think about is where the stone came from, natural is probably your answer.

What stays the same either way

Every diamond we set, lab or natural, is graded VS or VVS clarity and comes with its IGI report, which states plainly which kind it is. Every piece is solid 14k gold, made to order and covered by our lifetime craftsmanship warranty.

What not to worry about

Lab-grown diamonds are not coated, simulated or weaker. They will not cloud or change color. They are as hard as any diamond on earth, and they go in the shower, to dinner and to bed just the same.

The right diamond is the one you reach for every morning. Choose for the woman who will be wearing it, and you will not second-guess it later.
