✦ The Gold

• Metal: Solid 14k gold throughout, in yellow, white or rose. Not plated, not gold-filled, not vermeil.
• Karat: 14k is 58.5 percent pure gold, alloyed for strength. That alloy is what allows an open cuff to hold its shape and spring back rather than bend permanently.
• Finish: High polish across the nameplate face and the arms, so engraving cuts read as clean bright lines against the surface.
• Weight: Substantial for a cuff. The metal has to carry an engraved face without flexing, and you feel that on the wrist.
• Solid gold takes engraving properly. On a plated piece, cutting into the surface exposes the base metal underneath. Here there is nothing underneath. It is gold all the way down.

• Open cuff with no clasp, shaped to sit close on your wrist.
• Available in 6.5", 7", 7.5", 8" and 8.5", so the cuff is made to your wrist rather than adjusted to it.
• The nameplate face is flat and wide enough to carry a full name in script or block lettering.
• The arms taper away from the plate, so the weight sits on top of the wrist and the cuff does not rotate underneath while you wear it.
• Edges are rounded and polished, including at the opening, so nothing catches on a sleeve or a shirt cuff.

✦ How to Wear It

On its own, on the wrist you gesture with. A nameplate cuff is a piece of text, and text wants white space around it.

If you stack, keep the second piece thin and quiet. A fine chain bracelet sitting above it works. Another worded or engraved piece does not. It also sits well beside a watch on the same arm as long as the watch is simple. Push it slightly up the forearm under a long sleeve and let it appear when you move.

✦ Care & Longevity

• Solid 14k gold does not tarnish or fade.
• Clean with warm water, mild soap and a soft toothbrush, working along the engraved lines where polish and skin oil settle and soften the letters.
• Do not flex the cuff open and closed to take it off. Slide it on and off from the side. Repeated flexing is the one thing that fatigues an open cuff.
• Take it off before the gym. A cuff against a bar goes out of shape quickly.
• Off before swimming. Chlorine attacks the alloys in gold over time.
• Store it lying open rather than pressed under heavier pieces.

Every Nameplate Bangle is made and engraved for your order. Allow 4 to 5 weeks for delivery. Often sooner if the bangle is already in stock.

• Engraved pieces are final sale and cannot be returned or exchanged. Check your spelling, spacing and capitalization carefully before ordering. Engraving cannot be undone, and we cut exactly what you type.
• Non-engraved AVRA orders are returnable within 20 business days of delivery for store credit, unless stated otherwise under product.
