Oval Spiral Ring with marquise lab-grown diamond in gold

Spiral Ring

Rings

$2,500.00

A marquise diamond riding the crest of a band that winds around your finger several times over. The Spiral Ring is one continuous length of solid 14k gold, coiled rather than closed, so the ring has a direction to it instead of simply being a circle.

Most statement rings sit on the finger. This one travels along it. From above you see the stone. From the side you see the architecture, and that is the angle people notice second.

✦ Diamond Specifications

  • Stone: A single marquise-cut lab-grown diamond, held at the high point of the coil
  • Clarity: VS1+, eye-clean under any light in the room
  • Color: E+, at the top of the near-colorless range
  • Cut: Excellent
  • Carat weight: 2 or 3 ctw
  • Orientation: The points of the marquise run along the finger, not across it, which is what makes the whole hand look longer

Marquise is the shape that reads largest for its weight, because the cut spreads the stone lengthwise instead of down into depth. On a coiled band that matters. At 2ct the marquise reads generously without overwhelming the hand. At 3ct the stone spans most of the width of the finger and the coil becomes the frame for it.

✦ Metal & Construction

  • Solid 14k gold. Not plated, not filled, not vermeil.
  • Sizes 5 through 12, in half sizes throughout.
  • What looks like a stack of fine bands is a single piece of gold. The coils cannot separate, slip out of order or rotate against one another.
  • The metal is heaviest beneath the stone and tapers away toward the tail, which is what keeps a tall ring sitting upright instead of rolling to one side.
  • Every interior surface is polished and rounded, so multiple coils feel like one wide comfortable band rather than several thin ones biting in.

✦ How to Wear It

Middle finger, right hand, with the rest of that hand bare. A spiral needs space around it to be read as a spiral, and crowding it turns the whole thing into noise.

Because the coils already do the visual work of a stack, this is a difficult ring to stack against. If you want a second piece on the same hand, put a plain band on the neighbouring finger rather than above it. One practical advantage worth knowing: a coiled band cannot spin the way a single thin ring does, so the stone stays where you put it all day. Wear it with a sleeve you can push back.

✦ Why Lab-Grown Diamonds

  • Chemically and optically identical to mined diamonds. Same carbon lattice, same 10 on the Mohs scale, same fire.
  • Graded on the same 4Cs by the same gemological standards, which is how we can hold E color on a solitaire. With one stone and nothing to distract from it, any warmth in the body of the diamond would be obvious.
  • Traceable origin. You know exactly where the stone came from.
  • Better value, which is the only reason a 3 carat marquise on a sculptural band is a ring you buy rather than a ring you save a picture of.

✦ Perfect For

  • The woman who has the classics already and wants something with a point of view.
  • Wearing a large diamond on a finger that has nothing to do with marriage.
  • Dinners, openings and any room where you would like to be asked about your hands.
  • Marking a year that took something out of you and gave something back.
  • Anyone who finds plain solitaires beautiful and slightly boring.

✦ Care & Longevity

  • Solid 14k gold does not tarnish or fade. It needs cleaning, not restoration.
  • Warm water, a drop of mild soap and a soft toothbrush. Work the brush between the coils, which is the one place on this ring where hand cream collects and sits.
  • Rinse thoroughly and dry between the coils too. Trapped water leaves a film that dulls the polish faster than wear does.
  • Take it off before the gym. A coiled band under bar pressure will flatten, and gold does not spring back.
  • Off before swimming. Chlorine attacks the alloys in gold over time.
  • Store it on its own rather than loose with other rings, so nothing wedges into the coils.

Fine Details

Why ?

Five reasons it outlasts everything else in the box.

Most jewelry is built to look good in a photo. This is built to still look good after a decade of showers, gym bags and airports.

OthersDesigner
01 Solid 14k goldEvery piece is 14k gold through and through. Brass core, gold-dipped — even vermeil gold is just a coating. Same materials but with a 10x markup? You're buying the logo, not the piece.
02 VS–VVS clarityClarity that actually sparkles with fire, graded and certified. Cubic zirconia or ungraded stones. Usually SI — you're paying for the name, not the stone.
03 Never tarnishesSolid gold doesn't fade — it only patinas. Dulls and flakes within months. Nobody likes green stains on their skin… Varies line to line.
04 An investmentA quality piece that holds and rises in value over time. No resale value. Resale rarely covers the name markup.
05 QualityHand-finished, inspected in Florida, small local batch. Mass-produced, no inspection. Made on the same production lines as the rest.
