Where a single-stone cuff makes its point with one diamond, this one makes it with many. A continuous row of pavé-set lab-grown diamonds runs the length of a slim polished band that hugs the outer curve of the ear and holds by tension alone. It reads as one bright unbroken line rather than a single flash, which is exactly why it works as well at nine in the morning as it does at nine at night.

Pavé does something a solitaire cannot. Dozens of tiny stones each catch light at a slightly different angle, so instead of one bright point you get a continuous shimmer that follows the curve of your ear and stays lit from every viewing angle.

• No post, no back, no clasp, no piercing required. The band is formed with spring in it and grips the outer ear by gentle tension.
• The band is deliberately slim. A wider cuff would need more pressure to stay on, and pressure is what makes cuffs uncomfortable by hour three.
• Stones are bead-set below the surface of the metal rather than perched on it, so nothing snags on hair, scarves or a phone screen held to your ear.
• One size, shaped to the outer ear, adjustable by hand within a small range.

✦ How to Wear It

Wear it higher than you think. This cuff belongs on the mid to upper outer edge of the ear where the rim is thinnest, not down near the lobe. Roll it on from the outside rather than pushing it straight against the ear, and let it settle so the diamond line follows the ear's natural curve.

To adjust, take it off first. Press the ends gently toward each other for a tighter hold, or ease them apart if it pinches, moving a fraction of a millimetre at a time and trying it on between each press. Small increments, always, and never work it back and forth repeatedly.

Because it sits high, it does not compete with anything in your lobes. Put your studs in as usual and let the cuff be the top note of a curated ear, or wear it on the bare ear opposite a drop earring so both sides have something to say. Hair tucked back or up, since a diamond line hidden under hair is just a warm piece of gold.

• Solid 14k gold will not tarnish or fade. It only needs cleaning.
• Pavé needs cleaning more often than a single stone, because product collects in the tiny spaces between the beads and dulls the whole line at once. Warm water, mild soap, a soft toothbrush worked along the row, then rinse and dry thoroughly.
• Hairspray is the main offender. Put the cuff on after your hair is done, not before.
• Never sleep in it. A tension piece shifts against a pillow and can be forced open overnight.
• Off before swimming and showering. Chlorine attacks the alloys in gold.
• Store it in your AVRA box with nothing resting on top of it, so the band keeps its shape.
