Most women with a second lobe piercing end up filling it with something unrelated, a spare stud or whatever matched closest that morning. Stella Links treats the two holes as a single canvas instead. A pear-cut diamond sits in the upper piercing, a whisper of 14k cable chain drapes down across the lobe, and a round brilliant anchors the lower piercing with a second, larger pear suspended beneath it. The gap between your piercings stops being a gap and becomes the design.

The mix of shapes is doing real work. The round brilliant sits at the busiest point of the ear and throws scattered fire in every direction. The two pears point, which pulls the eye along the line rather than letting it stop at any one stone.

• Solid 14k gold throughout, in yellow or white. Not plated, not filled, not vermeil.
• Sold as a single earring. One piece fits one ear and occupies both of that ear's piercings.
• Two posts, two push backs, one per piercing. The upper post carries the pear, the lower carries the round and its drop.
• The connecting cable chain is the engineering. It is fine enough to read as a line of light rather than a piece of hardware, and it is fixed at both ends so it drapes in a soft curve instead of pulling taut.
• Built for two lobe piercings sitting roughly 6 to 8 mm apart. If yours are spaced noticeably wider or narrower, email us before you order and we will tell you honestly whether it will sit right.

✦ How to Wear It

Put the upper post in first, through your second piercing, and seat the back. Then take the lower stud and thread it through your first piercing, letting the chain fall naturally across the lobe between them. Do not try to do both at once, and do not pull the chain to guide the second post. It should curve gently, not stretch. Once both backs are on, run a fingertip along the chain to settle it flat against the skin.

Because it comes as a single earring, you have a real choice. Wear one and put a plain stud or nothing in the other ear, which is the version that looks like you dress for yourself. Or order two and wear it symmetrically, which turns it into proper occasion jewelry. Hair up either way. The whole point of this piece is the negative space between two piercings, and hair down hides exactly that.

• Solid 14k gold will not tarnish or fade. It only needs cleaning.
• Warm water, mild soap and a soft brush, worked gently along the chain and behind each setting. Rinse and dry flat.
• Never sleep in this one. The chain catches on hair and pillowcases, and a fine chain under repeated tension is the one part of this earring that will not forgive you.
• Take it out before swimming and showering. Chlorine attacks the alloys in gold.
• Put it on last, after perfume, hairspray and sunscreen, and remove it before you brush your hair out at night.
• Store it flat in your AVRA box rather than dropped into a dish, so the chain does not kink or tangle with anything else.
